3 years ago American Express has celebrated small business with a day dedicated to “shopping small” called Small Business Saturday®. This year is no different and American Express has created an infographic in order to build awareness about the day. This infographic illustrates the following statistics:
- Small businesses pay 44% of Total U.S. private payroll
- Small businesses created 65% of the net new jobs created in the 17 year period ending in 2009
- 93% of consumers believed it's important to support the local small businesses that they value in their community
