They published an infographic highlighting the growing impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on consumer behavior and employee decision making. CSR programs enable businesses to make a positive social impact through planned initiatives.

The number of companies publishing a CSR report has risen dramatically since 2011:

  • 2011: 20% of companies published a CSR report
  • 2012: 53%
  • 2013: 72%
  • 2014: 75%
  • 2015: 81%

Consumers and employees alike show support for companies with CSR programs:

  • 55% of customers are willing to pay more for products from socially responsible companies.
  • Percentage of workers who consider CSR in deciding where to work:
    • Millennials: 79%
    • Gen-Xers: 68%
    • Average for all U.S. workers: 58%

Mid-sized companies with fully integrated CSR programs (33% of companies surveyed) focus on the following causes:

  • Education: 60%
  • Environment: 45%
  • Economic Development: 40%
  • Youth Services: 40%
  • Disaster Relief: 30%
  • Arts and Culture: 20%
