22 Entrepreneurs Share How They Incorporate Health and Fitness into Their Day

Incorporating health and fitness into your daily routine can improve your overall well-being. There are many ways to do so, including incorporating physical activity into your daily routine, eating a healthy and balanced diet, getting enough sleep, and managing stress levels. By making small changes to your daily habits, you can improve your physical and mental health, increase your energy levels, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

We asked entrepreneurs how they incorporate health and fitness into their day and here are the responses:

#1- By prioritizing my morning routine

I prioritize more nutritious eating habits by opting for whole foods, organic foods, and home-cooked meals. Starting my day with a brisk 30-minute morning walk has become a non-negotiable routine for me. Not only does it allow me to soak up some fresh air and clear my mind, but it also sets a positive tone for the day ahead including the morning cold showers. During weekends, I typically carve out time for a refreshing run. I also do some stretching exercises when glued to my chair for too long.

#2- By scheduling short exercise sessions

Integrating health and fitness into my daily routine is a priority. I schedule short, focused exercise sessions throughout the day, similar to how we manage tasks breaking them into smaller, more manageable parts. This method ensures I stay active without overwhelming my schedule. Whether it is a quick walk, a brief stretching session, or a series of push-ups, these activities help maintain my physical health and mental clarity. It enables me to keep up with the demands of a fast-paced e-commerce company.

#3- By regularly going to the gym in the morning

I have made it a non-negotiable habit and routine part of my day to get up early to go to the gym. This way I get it done before I have time to think about it, it makes me feel so much better throughout the day and there's no chance of getting caught up with work, kids, and other distractions. I put my active wear out the night before and set my alarm before I go to bed and it all happens on autopilot now because I'm so used to training in the early mornings.

#4- By going to the gym near the office

It can be so hard to find time in my day to exercise. What has changed the game for me is finding a fitness studio that is 2 minutes from my office. It's not the place I would choose based on all of the other checkboxes I thought I needed in a gym/studio, but it hits 2 major checkboxes – (1) literally around the corner from work and (2) good instructors. Turns out, that's ALL I need to have now completed over a year of regular training, a minimum of 3 times a week.

#5- By starting the day with yoga and meditation

My daily routine is thoughtfully designed to enhance my well-being, starting each morning with yoga and meditation to set a positive tone. Throughout the workday, I maintain my energy levels by taking brief, active pauses for stretching or walks. I'm attentive to my meal choices, ensuring they contribute to sustained vitality. In addition to planned exercises, I incorporate physical activity into regular tasks, opting to bike to meetings whenever feasible. Consistency is the cornerstone of my fitness philosophy, alongside selecting activities that I genuinely enjoy.

Starting the day with a morning run or cycling session clears the mind, and helps in fueling creativity. Despite a busy schedule, prioritizing regular training sessions is non-negotiable. Discipline, endurance, and resilience developed through sports directly translate into business success, enhancing focus, productivity, and overall well-being. Short breaks during the workday, help maintain energy levels and stimulate innovative thinking.

#7- By incorporating small impactful habits

“I don't have time” was no longer an acceptable excuse. I realized that taking care of my body and mind was crucial for my overall success and well-being. So, I started incorporating small but impactful habits into my daily routine. I created a home gym and set aside 30 minutes each day for exercise, whether it's lifting weights or going for a run. I also make sure to prioritize healthy meals and take breaks throughout the day to stretch and move my body.

Prioritizing my health and fitness is critical, serving my well-being and demonstrating good living to our valued clientele. Each day begins with a careful nutritional approach to efficiently managing my diabetes. Regular exercise, whether a brisk morning stroll, a gym session, or a brief home workout, is essential for managing diabetes and living a healthier lifestyle. #9- By waking up early to exercise

I recommend waking up a little earlier and using that time before work to exercise. Going for a jog, lifting weights, practicing yoga, or whatever form of exercise you prefer can help energize you for the rest of your day. I also like to take short breaks between activities while I work to help me reset. Incorporating physical activity into these breaks can help me make more time for fitness and also keep me motivated throughout the day. I find that getting outside and taking a short walk can do wonders.

My lifestyle intertwines seamlessly with a commitment to health and wellness. My day kicks off with meditation, focusing my mental energies and preparing me for the tasks ahead. Fitness is not negotiable; I engage in a dynamic 30-minute exercise regime, alternating between strength, cardio, and flexibility workouts. A disciplined approach to nutrition ensures my meals support my physical and cognitive needs, emphasizing whole foods. Regular standing and brief walks punctuate my work schedule to keep the body active and the mind sharp.

#11- By adopting simple solutions

Simplify to amplify, I say, and adopt simple solutions to incorporate these daily health and fitness habits into your day, such as using a stand-up desk and a walking pad to get you moving while being productive on your computer. Having a drink bottle at your desk will remind you to hydrate more frequently. Creating deliberate spaces in your schedule to have mental breaks by getting fresh air and sunlight will help you stay focused. Every little habit matters!

#12- Working out in the morning

Health & Fitness need to be programmed into your daily schedule as a non-negotiable. We spend a lot of time productively procrastinating. You need to get moving when the birds are chirping, otherwise, you get caught in the mindset of ‘I should be doing x instead'. Food prep sounds great, but it takes a lot of time. Your time should be worth more than cooking meals, so outsource it to a meal prep company. You will be amazed at the variety of quality & nutritious meals that are available now!

#13- By doing yoga regularly

We often forget to take care of our physical and mental health while running businesses. Ever since I moved to Bali, I became fond of Yoga just because of how much peace it used to bring me. I work remotely, and sometimes you forget to take care of yourself. But as soon as Yoga became my habit, I couldn’t just miss it any day. I realized how those few minutes have impacted my life so beautifully. So I don’t have to take time out for Yoga I eventually get to it unconsciously.

#14- By preparing healthy meals

I start my week by setting aside at least 30 minutes each day for physical activity. I usually wake up early, have a quick breakfast, and then hit the gym for a quick workout session before starting my workday. This helps me get energized and focused for the rest of the day. I have learned the importance of a healthy diet in maintaining my overall well-being. So, I make an effort to prepare healthy meals or opt for healthier options when eating out. Taking care of myself physically allows me to perform better in my work, and handle stress more effectively.

#15- By setting realistic goals

By fitting bitesize activities into my day, and setting realistic goals, I’ve actually achieved more than I thought I could. A great technique for this is habit stacking. So, when I’m waiting for my coffee to brew, I do some stretches. I do balancing exercises while I brush my teeth. I have five-minute meditations which I can fit into quiet moments of my day. I’ve made this my default, rather than reaching for my phone. I’ve learned not to be overly ambitious, it’s just about showing up and consistently making small choices.

#16- By starting the day with morning walks

Even amidst my packed schedule, integrating health and fitness into my daily routine. I believe a sound mind resides in a sound body. Each day starts early with walks around the neighborhood, where I unwind and listen to classic rock tunes like Janis Joplin or The Youngbloods on my headphones. It helps me find my balance and prepare for the mental challenges of the day. Being an attorney is mentally exhausting, however, cultivating healthy habits allows me to stay focused and efficient all day long.

#17- By utilizing my time effectively

I have found a women's gym and effectively and efficiently squeeze in my 50 minute Pilates class followed by my green juice and skim piccolo. A pretty good use of my time. My son often drives us back to school as he's learning to drive and what another effective use of our time … he's sweating after soccer, I'm sweating as my teen driver hits the highway and bless my Neon Goat Shvitz Spritz product to hit the shvitz (sweat) when we need it most!

#18- By incorporating 15 mins mobility routine

The most important thing to do is incorporate a 15-minute mobility routine into your day. As a busy entrepreneur, you will spend most of your time sitting and staring at a screen. This will inevitably lead to back pain and similar symptoms. Once that happens, it will be very tough to remain productive. There are hundreds of quick mobility routines on YouTube so you can stretch alongside your favorite coach. Also, when you return to your desk, you will feel reenergized and get a lot more done.

Thanks to Niels Bohrmann

#19- By incorporating strength training

Venturing into expansive landscapes, navigating dense forests, and enhancing my archery skills are essential elements of my fitness regimen. These activities significantly boost my cardiovascular health, flexibility, and stamina, equipping me for the demands of outdoor adventures. Moreover, strength training is a crucial part of my routine. I incorporate exercises with resistance bands and leverage my body weight to build strength and reduce the risk of injuries.

#20- By carving out a workout zone at home

I've carved out a workout zone right in my home. This strategy kicks off with early morning exercises, alternating between yoga, resistance band workouts, or lifting weights. It's a perfect start, keeping me physically active and mentally sharp. I also weave in brief, dynamic breaks during the day—be it stretching or a brisk indoor walk. Leveraging digital resources ensures my fitness journey stays on track, unaffected by a hectic work calendar.

#21- By kicking off the morning with a jog

Kicking off my mornings with a jog is a cherished ritual of mine. This early burst of activity not only elevates my physical health but also primes me for the day ahead with a surge of positivity. Jogging serves as a mental reset, allowing me to focus on my objectives and energize for upcoming tasks. Immersing myself in the morning's natural splendor acts as a powerful rejuvenation. Come rain or shine, I ensure my mornings are structured to accommodate this vital routine.

#22- By structuring my daily activities

I find that having day-to-day structure is the key to keeping fit and healthy. I have set times that are always in my diary for workouts, and I naturally build a consistent routine which means I don’t skip gym sessions. When it comes to giving structure to my day when I’m travelling for work, I find research is key I pick a healthy food choices. When it comes to exercise, I like to look at the hotel’s health and fitness amenities in advance of my trip.
